We’re hiring in Portsmouth and the surrounding area. If you want a care job that’s actually supported, not just shifts, this is worth a read.

Why Work in Home Care

Caring for someone in their own home is different to a residential setting. You get to know the person properly, not just their care plan, and the work is genuinely varied: sometimes it’s personal care, sometimes it’s a walk to the shops or just company over a cup of tea. It suits people who want real relationships with the people they support, not a rota of strangers.

Permanent and Flexible Roles

Some of our carers work a regular pattern with the same one or two clients. Others cover a mix of shorter visits across the week. Live-in placements suit carers who want an extended block with one client rather than daily travel between visits. We build the pattern around what works for you as well as the client, wherever that’s possible.

What We’re Looking For

We recruit on values first: integrity, dignity, and accountability. Experience helps, but it’s not the whole picture, we’d rather take on someone reliable and genuinely caring and train them properly than someone with a long CV and the wrong attitude. Every new carer gets a structured induction before working alone, not a quick chat and a uniform. See our Training page for what that actually covers.

How We Support Our Staff

Tebby leads on staff welfare, supervision, and rostering, so support isn’t an afterthought bolted onto the job. Clear documentation, transparent payroll, and someone to escalate to when a situation gets complicated. Have a look at What We Do For You and Meet the Team to see who you’d actually be working with.
