Permanent Care Jobs in Hampshire

Stability and progression opportunities in the care sector

Why work in care long-term?

The obvious answer is that you're passionate about helping people, and you want to support those who can't be fully independent. But we understand that in the real world, it has to go beyond that. Whether you're looking for a stable job (there will always be people who need care) or a genuinely viable career path, getting into care for the long haul could be for you.

Permanent care home work

Becoming a permanent member of a care home, nursing home, day centre or similar enables you to build lasting relationships with the individuals you are helping to look after.

The human connections that come with care work are important to both the service user and the provider. Permanent work means building and maintaining those relationships, developing an understanding of the various residents' distinct personalities as well as their care requirements.

Being permanently based in a care home also increases the likelihood of career progression within the organisation. Building and maintaining relationships alongside gaining vital experience combined with ongoing training and development opportunities puts you in a great position to climb the ladder, if you so wish.

Permanent Home Care

Caring for people in their own homes where possible can help them to feel more, well, at home. In their own space and with a certain level of independence that they may not feel in residential care.

Becoming a permanent member of staff for someone who received care at home can take a number of forms, and can be flexible whilst fitting in with existing care plans and the potentially changing needs of the individual. Of course, as long as the needs and plans are stuck to it can and should also fit around other aspects of your life as well.

Whether it's a couple of hours a week to help with shopping or a trip to the park or a full live-in setup where you're available at all times for hygiene, domestic, and mobility assistance. Indeed, it could be anywhere between those two examples or could develop from one to the other over time. All the while you'll be developing as an individual, with access to a host of training resources to keep you at the top of your game.
