Supported living in Hampshire

The care you need in a familiar environment

What is Supported Living?

Supported living is an umbrella term which covers any instances in which a person receives care in their own home. It can apply whether that home is a retirement flat, part of a specifically designed/adapted building for disabled residents, or even a standard house.

Why supported living?

Many people consider this to be a happy medium offering the support and security of a place in a care home with the independence and privacy that comes from having one's own space.

There are a wide array of purpose-built or specifically modified blocks of flats or apartments where an individual can have access to flexible care and support options, with people on-hand 24/7 should help be required or a simple scheduled visit when required to assist with basic tasks.

It's also quite common to implement an assisted living plan based at a private residence, with staff coming to your home at pre-agreed times to offer all of the usual help and support you would expect from a care team.

Structured but flexible

Supported living is the ideal choice for a person who may have varying needs over the course of a care contract.

Agreements mean there is a consistent approach and regular contact, but they are adaptable enough to ensure that all parties can be responsive to any and all changes in circumstances or requirements.

The fact that an individual is in their own space gives an element of independence and privacy which many consider to be hugely beneficial, while the structure offered by an ongoing agreement can be vital to those who thrive on routine.
